BAHRAICH: A man, his father and daughter died on Friday night after eating the rotis of poisoned wheat.
The wheat was sent for grinding without washing it after purchase. The man and the daughter died at the community health centre (CHC) while his father died in district hospital.
Jagat Narayan (28), a labourer, residing at Gangwal Bazaar in Bisheshwarganj bought 10 kilograms of wheat on Friday.
His wife Chhama sent the wheat for grinding without washing it.
Later in the evening, she prepared rotis. The labourer, his father Badlu Ram (50) and daughter Pallavi (6) had dinner together. They all started vomiting 15 minutes after taking the meal.
Chhama called her brother-in-law Manohar when the condition of the three deteriorated. Manohar took them to the community health centre in isheshwarganj with the help of other villagers.
Jagat Narayan and Pallavi died soon after the treatment began. Badlu Ram was referred to district hospital. He was taken there in an ambulance where he died after some time. The bodies were sent for postmortem examination. Chief medical superintendent C M Pandey said that it appeared to be a case of poisoning after the examination of Badlu Ram.
