Malegaon low on fodder

Malegaon taluka has the highest cattle number but the poorest fodder quantity to deal with emergency situations arising out of poor or no rainfall.
"The district has 11.59 lakh ton of fodder available for the cattle and will be able to feed 12.16 lakh cattle till the September end," said PP Bagul, animal husbandry officer with the Zilla Parishad. However, Malegaon with 1.67 lakh cattle has only 5,450 tonnes of fodder available, which means it would be able to feed the cattle only till September beginning.
