Hyderabad: A two-and-a-half-year-old kid was severely beaten up by his teacher for not maintaining discipline at the Bachpan Play School in Dilsukhnagar on Saturday. The child’s parents filed an FIR at the police station as soon as they came to know that the teacher had been beating up the boy since some days.
Saroornagar sub-inspector G. Venkateshwaralu said that based on the complaint lodged by the kid’s parents a case was registered under Section 324 (Causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and Sections 23 and 24 of the Juvenile Justice Act. The accused Sushmitha is absconding, he added
“Since last week my son was very afraid of going to school and was not keeping well. He would everyday complain to me that his teacher is beating him, and when I finally went to the school I saw him sitting on the floor crying. When I asked other teachers they did not respond properly saying my son must be lying,” said Vivek Reddy, the kid’s father.
Another case happened at the Vikas Bharatiya Vidyalaya in Kukatpally where an LKG kid was beaten up badly by a teacher for not doing homework. The kid suffered an injury near the eye. When the parents of the kid complained to the school authorities the teacher apologised to the parents and promised not to repeat it.
