Two south Delhi thieves arrested
NEW DELHI: 'Super chor' Bunty was their inspiration but the youths who whisked away cars from under the noses of owners in south Delhi were talented in their own right.
Arrested after a 45-day pursuit, they have turned out to be a dance trainer and a martial arts trainer whose desires didn't fit their means.
While the two easily got away with car thefts, and may have evaded police a while longer, their fill-and-scoot exploits caught on petrol pump CCTVs proved their undoing.

DCP (south) B S Jaiswal confirmed that Sandeep Chauhan (26), a Taekwondo teacher, and Prakash Kumar (21), who runs a dance academy, have been arrested, and a Honda City, a Toyota Etios and a VW Polo have been recovered. Prakash told police he had reached the top 100 in a popular dance contest.
"The two were arrested by a team including inspector Manmohan Singh, SI Dinesh Beniwal and others. They have been booked under sections of IPC for fraud, theft and cheating," Jaiswal said.
Chauhan and Kumar told police they also "seized" a Honda City near RK Puram police station and told the driver to get the original documents to get it released from the police pound. They also picked a Toyota Etios from a Defence Colony parking lot by tricking the attendant into handing over the key.

The first car they stole?a red VW Polo, on June 2?finally led the cops to them. On June 8, they tanked up this car at a Vasant Vihar pump but fled without paying. Days later, they played the same trick at a Dhaula Kuan pump.
That's when inspector Rajender Singh of the special task force was roped in as he had caught Bunty?the initial suspect?earlier. "We had Bunty on our minds from the beginning, but there was a catch in the theory?he was supposed to be serving time in a Kerala jail," said an officer.
Chauhan and Kumar had been maintaining the cars well to go clubbing at five star hotels.
Armed with the fake number they were using on the Polo, police tracked down the car when it came for a wash to a Vasant Kunj workshop and caught the duo as it came to collect it.
