MUMBAI: The Thane rural police on Friday arrested one of the directors of Rashmi Builders of Mira Road for allegedly forging thumb impression, signature and documents of a dead farmer. The accused, Hemendra Bosmiya (37), Rashmi Housing Pvt Ltd, has been remanded in police custody till July 23. A police complaint was filed last year by Rupesh Patil alleging that his ancestral agricultural land near Mira Road was fraudulently taken away by the builder and converted into a non-agricultural land.
Hemendra’s brother Yogesh told TOI that Rupesh was trying to blackmail Hemendra by demanding Rs 3.5 crore. He said a case was registered against Rupesh.
