Eid shopping gaininig momentum in Kashi

VARANASI: Eid shopping is gathering momentum in Varanasi markets. Hundreds of people are spending spare time in dealing with shoppers. The women are seen crowding at apparel shops offering a wide range of designer kurtis and frock suits. Men are preferring embroidered kurta pajama. Lycra naqabs coming from Bangalore and Mumbai and Omani caps imported from Muscat are the centre of attraction.Velvet caps are also in market but these are delivered on orders.
"I purchased a black pathani, namaz topi along with two jeans and check shirts for this Eid," said Amam while shopping in Beniya Bagh. Many shop owners said that they are having good business. They are expecting it to rise in the coming days. The fashion lovers are fond of traditional dresses but the youth are getting attracted to the western attires. A number of people are purchasing from the shopping malls. The malls offering gift hampers and discounts.
The artificial jewellry section is also creating its place in the market. "Ashiqui2 jhumka and Ram Leela jewellery are much in demand," said a shop owner, adding that the necklace and bangles are also in demand. A wide range of curtains and decorative cushions are also available to decorate homes for Eid.
