KANPUR: City-based private nursing home owner turned real estate developer Dr Shaktinath Bhargava (45) of Civil Lines was allegedly kidnapped in New Delhi on Wednesday. He had gone to the national capital in connection with a court hearing on July 15.
His wife Shikha lodged a complaint with Nabi Kareem police station in Delhi on July 17, after she failed to contact him.
Following her complaint, the police registered a kidnapping case and lodged an investigation.
"The police have recovered two mobile phones while third phone of Shaktinath is still missing from the hotel room," said another relative of the victim.
Police said Bhargava owns a nursing home at Bada Chauraha and used to travel to Delhi often.
On July 15, Bhargava left Kanpur to Delhi by Shatabdi Express train. Later, he reached Pahadganj area and checked at White Empire hotel.
