Joy Behar slams Sarah Palin regarding rumors she’s joining The View

The recent exits of co-hosts Jenny McCarthy, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters have left some major holes in the lineup on daytime talk show The View. If you ask Joy Behar who should be next to join Whoopi Goldberg on the popular program, she has a very definite opinion on who should not be hired.

While at the Venetian Las Vegas on Thursday, the comic and ex-View co-host took time out with Extra to comment on rumors that Sarah Palin may join the show. “Shouldn’t Sarah Palin be turning letters over on some game show at this point? Why is she even relevant? She and Dick Cheney need to say bye-bye and disappear,” Behar said. “So I don’t really see her on any show, frankly… I wouldn’t watch.”

This isn’t the first time Behar has had choice words for political figures. In addition to Palin and Cheney, the comedienne has a strong disliking for presidential candidate Mitt Romney. In 2012, she agreed with Susan Sarandon’s remarks about Romney, saying that he is “a Scrooge.”

While Palin may not be well-liked by all, she’s not totally unqualified when it comes to the media spotlight and being on network television. The former vice presidential candidate currently hosts Amazing America with Sarah Palin on the Sportsman Channel and has enjoyed two stints as a paid consultant on Fox News.

Behar may not want Palin on The View, but she doesn’t want to nominate herself for the job either. “I don’t need to go back to that particular show,” she told Extra. “I have other things I’m doing right now which I enjoy. I like the freelance aspect without having to be somewhere every day.”

ABC confirmed last week that former View host Rosie O’Donnell will be returning to the show for season 18, and buzz that former Real Housewife of New York Bethenny Frankel is in talks to join the cast has also been circulating.
