Dileep Pandey,
Mukesh Jha and five others have been arrested for putting up
incriminating posters in
Jamia Nagar. Pandey, an expert in information technology, had quit his job in Hong Kong and is a party spokesperson. He also oversees communications for AAP. Jha is part of AAP’s logistics team while another accused, identified as Javed, is in the design team, police sources said.
Police claimed the accused had pasted banners/posters sp reading communal hatred but, AAP has denied the allegations.
The four others arrested are printing press owners and carriers who had ferried and pasted the photos, source said.
The accused have been charged under IPC 295 and 153A (spreading and promoting enmity between two groups).
A similar incident had come to fore earlier in Seemapuri in northeast Delhi. Two AAP members, Gaurav and Abid, have been sent to police custody. AAP lawyer Rahul Mehra had alleged police were framing them.
