Caesars Entertainment has announced that the Quad, recently renamed after years as the Imperial Palace, will undergo yet another name change.

It will soon become the Linq Hotel & Casino, which will brand the resort with the bar and entertainment district of the same name that opened at mid-Strip this year. The renaming will include a $223 million redevelopment, including 2,256 remodeled "modern urban" rooms, a new pool and spa, bars, lounges and gathering areas.

The opening date is set for Halloween. Introductory rates start at $89.

Taco Tuesdays: The Commissary at the Downtown Grand sells 99-cent street tacos from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays. The choices are chicken, bean and cheese, and brisket.

Back Room: Silver Sevens (formerly Terrible's) has opened a steak house called the Back Room. It's a curtained-off section in the Sterling Spoon coffee shop. It's open Friday and Saturday nights and features good steaks costing $25-$35. A couple can have a fancy meal for less than $100.

TGI happy hour: TGI Fridays restaurants don't advertise it much, but they have a good happy hour from 3 to 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily. It's called "6-5-4-3" for $6 appetizers; $5 sangria; $4 20-ounce draft beer, well drinks and wine; and $3 14-ounce draft beer. TGI Fridays are at Suncoast, Orleans, Sam's Town, Gold Coast and Aliante casinos.
