Two TMC feet of water sought for Wyra reserve

Appeal came after farmers met at Wyra and decided to meet T. Harish Rao

Khammam: The farmers raising crops under Wyra reservoir in the district on Friday urged the government to ask the Krishna River Board to include the allocation of two tmc feet of water for the reservoir during the distribution of river water between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The appeal came after the farmers met at Wyra and decided to meet Telangana irrigation minister T. Harish Rao and submit a memorandum.

Farmers’ leader N. Nageswara Rao said that the farmers have been raising crops on 22,000 acres for the last 70 years and have every right to get two tmc feet of water from River Krishna.
