Call for end to hostilities in Gaza

A large number of Muslims took out a rally in the city under the aegis of Jamaat-E-Islami Hind (JeIH) and Students Islamic Organization of India (SIOI) on Friday calling for an end to the hostilities in Palestine and condemnation of the attacks by India.

The rally which started at Panja Centre in One-Town concluded at the Collector’s office where a delegation submitted a memorandum to Collector M. Raghunandan Rao conveying their anguish against the large-scale violation of human rights by Israeli military.

Leaders of the Muslim outfits alleged that innocent people were being killed and even women and children were not spared of the atrocities.

JeIH District Secretary Md. Akbar expressed regret that the United Nations Organization (UNO) maintained a stoic silence on the issue while the attacks evoked strong protests throughout the world. India and other peace-loving countries should mount pressure on UNO to take action against Israel before the conflict escalated further, he demanded.

JeIH South coastal districts organizer Md. Dawood, Riaz Ahmed Sufi, K.M. Khan and Zaheer participated.
