VADODARA: Burglars are striking at will in the city despite police stepping up patrolling in many areas. Raman Patel, a resident of Gorwa, filed a complaint of burglary recently. According to the complainant, the temple room of the house was burgled of gold and silver jewelleries worth Rs 8,17,800 between 11 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday early morning. A complaint has been filed with the Gorwa police station.
Sachin Shah, a Waghodia resident also filed a complaint of burglary on Thursday. Shah told the police that the burglars broke into his house and fled with gold jewelry and silverware worth Rs 1 lakh from the temple room. According to the complaint, the burglary happened between 11 pm on Wednesday and early Thursday morning. A complaint was registered at the Panigate police station. Many city areas, especially, Manjalpur have been witnessing spate of burglaries. The police said that gangs from other districts target the city and disappear, making it difficult to trace them.
