VMC begins health checkup drive

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has started a series of health camps in the city in wake of the monsoon season when prevalence of diseases is higher. Besides the VMC, government hospitals in the city will be participating in the drive.

VADODARA: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has started a series of health camps in the city in wake of the monsoon season when prevalence of diseases is higher. Besides the VMC, government hospitals in the city will be participating in the drive.
VMC began the health checkup camps this week in collaboration with the mobile hospital of the Baroda Medical College and the GMERS Hospital at Gotri that also has an attached medical college.
The drive will go on till September 9 and a detailed plan has been devised to ensure that all areas of the city are covered.
VMC will be holding 25 camps in each election ward of the city. It has already organised two such camps for ward 18 and ward 10 on Monday and Wednesday. On Saturday, a camp will be organised for ward three at Pensionpura in Nizampura area.
Deputy mayor Ranjan Bhatt said that besides examining patients samples were collected at the camps for various pathological tests and vaccination of children was also conducted. She said that the camps were must in wake of the fact that there was larger prevalence of diseases in this season.
