Fox’s Jon Morosi reports that the Tigers are having “ongoing discussions” with the Rangers regarding Joakim Soria.
Morosi says that the Tigers are looking to keep Joe Nathan the closer, so any bullpen help they get -- and they need bullpen help -- will be from guys who aren’t hellbent on being a closer. That rules out Huston Street, but keeps Soria and perhaps old friend Joaquin Benoit in the mix.
Soria is having a nice season, posting a 2.67 ERA and 40/4 K/BB ratio over 30 and a third innings.
