Ishita Ganguly: FB helped me bag the role

Meet Kolkata girl Ishita Ganguly, who is now playing one of the lead characters in Shastri Sisters, starred in Bengali serials like Mrs Singha Roy, Annapurna and Bhasha.
“I have been acting since I was 13 and have been a part of tele-films like Achena Manush and Ekti Chhotto Meyer Golpo. Now, I have moved with my mother to Mumbai for Shastri Sisters,” she said, adding, “The producers of the show contacted me through FB and asked me to send a video folio.I was later called for the final look test.”

Ishita will be playing Anushka, the second of four sisters. Anushka is the mother figure of the family and is very close to her father. When asked about the difference between the tellyworld in Kolkata and Mumbai, she said, “The daily schedules in both the places are quite gruelling. But yes, Mumbai is more professional.”
