VARANASI: As many as four persons were killed in separate road mishaps in Varanasi, Ghazipur and Sonebhadra district on Wednesday.
In Sonebhadra district, one Shyam Bihari (50) was killed after coming under the wheels of a bus near Bidar village under
Duddhi police station. Shyam was
helping the cleaner to place his daughter's bag who boarded the bus for Varanasi.
The driver moved the bus and Shyam came under its wheels. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was declared brought dead. Angered over the incident villagers blocked the road for several hours. Situation normalized after police intervened in the matter
In another incident,
Virbahadur Singh (35) of Khochva village, along with his brother Raj Bahadur was passing through Rupapur Padao under
Mirza Murad police station in Varanasi when a speeding truck hit their motorcycle. Virbahadur died on the spot while Raj suffered serious injuries. The driver fled from the scene.
Meanwhile,
Virendra Yadav (26) of Mirzapur was killed after he came under the wheels of his cousin
Dinesh Yadav's truck near Rajvadi Bridge under Chaubeypur police station. Reports stated Virendra, with driver Ganesh Yadav and cleaner Suresh has gone to deliver a consignment. Near Rajvadi Bridge they all slept under the truck. After waking up Ganesh and Suresh boarded the truck and moved ahead while Suresh came under its wheels and died on the spot. Police have arrested the driver and cleaner after sending the body for postmortem
. In Ghazipur, a school teacher Shailesh Gupta (35) of Ghazipur district was killed when a speeding truck ran over him near Malsa village under Jamania police station in Ghazipur district. He died on the spot.The incident occurred when Shailesh was heading towards his school.
