Forest Collective offer immersive experience in The Garden

By Michael Dwyer

Mozart, Sondheim and Coldplay are equal partners in The Garden, the second production by the multidisciplinary Forest Collective premiering at Kew Courthouse this Friday through Sunday. The song cycle morphed out of a one-man opera by director Evan Lawson, and traces the rise and collapse of a romantic liaison with a six-piece chamber ensemble fronted by vocalists Rosemary Ball and Michael Lampard (pictured, with Katriona Tsylrin and Tamara Kohler). The "immersive experience" will feature tactile and projection elements, and precedes the eclectic collective’s first foray into physical theatre at La Mama in October. kewcourthouse.com.au
