The European Parliament endorsed Poland's former deputy Finance Minister Jacek Dominik as a candidate to replace Janusz Lewandowski in the position of European Commissioner for Financial Programming and the Budget until the end of the current term of office.

Lewandowski will vacate his post after being elected to the European Parliament.
