Delhi man 'thrown out of train' by TTE, dies
ALIGARH: A businessman from Tughlaqabad in Delhi, who was travelling by the Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi Express, died on Thursday after allegedly being pushed from the moving train by a lady TTE near Aligarh.
The 27-year-old trader, identified as of now only as Krishna, had tried to board the train on Wednesday at Aligarh Junction at around pm, but was told by the TTE that there was no seat available for him.
Claiming that he had a first class ticket with him, he clambered on even as the argument grew louder. Sources said he was “even ready to pay the difference and cover the distance to Delhi standing.”
By now the train had started moving and seeing that the man stood his ground, he was allegedly pushed out. As he fell on the tracks with a thud, Krishna immediately broke his leg. The first thing doctors did in the hospital he was rushed to by GRP personnel was amputate one of his legs. But that didn't help matters and his condition deteriorated steadily.
“The area below the hip was gone when he was brought to the hospital and at 11:20. He died soon after. No one from his family could come to see him and he was brought in as a destitute. His body was also sent as a destitute,” said CMO of JN Medical College Dr Naseem Alam.
Railway officials, denying any foul play, claimed that the deceased was found near the tracks at the Aligarh yard and help was extended to the person immediately. “The deceased who was not a bona fide passenger was found with an injury on one of his legs near the tracks. Doctors and medical help was rushed to him and then he was immediately taken to the nearest hospital,” said the spokesperson of North Central Railway. The spokesperson added that railway had received no report of the passenger being pushed or manhandled in the train. While an official investigation has yet not been called to the incident, railway officials said that they were trying to find more about it through their sources.

GRP sources, meanwhile, refuted allegations that the TTE had pushed the man, leading to his almost immediate death. “We cannot conduct any investigation on rumors,” a GRP officer told TOI.
“There is no eye witness in this case to say that the conductor pushed him out of the train. When the incident took place, our concern was to immediately take him to the hospital and save his life. We approached the victim and asked his name twice but he couldn’t even speak his name clearly. In fact, we don't know if he said his name was Krishna or Ishan. He died today and we have handed over his body to his family in Delhi. The investigation will be conducted after the FIR is filed by his friends or family members.”
Sources in the hospital said Krishna, who runs a business in Tughlaqabad, has his roots in West Bengal where his body has been taken for cremation. He had come to meet his sister Durgesh in Akarabad in Aligarh on Tuesday and had the return ticket for Delhi on the Lucknow Shatabdi Express.
