In his constituency, Paresh Rawal’s wife to ‘transform’ five govt schools

Sampat announced her plans to adopt five government schools and Balvatikas in Ahmedabad.

In a bid to contribute to her husband (and actor) BJP MP Paresh Rawal’s constituency, Swaroop Sampat, who is a theatre personality and an actress herself, on Thursday announced her plans to adopt five government schools and Balvatikas in Ahmedabad- East and turn them into model schools within a period of three years.

She was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of a collection of Gujarati Haiku poems and photo exhibition at a city-based art gallery that saw photographs taken by 30 students from a government school called ‘Mari Shala’ in Rajpur, near Gandhinagar.

“I plan to pick up five such Grade ‘B’ schools and Balvatikas that provide pre-primary education in rural and semi-rural areas of the constituency and turn them into ‘model’ schools that can be replicated across the country. For this, Paresh and I will begin scouting for schools from August. I don’t plan on changing the infrastructure or the curriculum, but want to ensure that teachers are given international-level training. There is a lot that can change in the education sector. We plan to use funds from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) Scheme for it,” she said.
