MUMBAI: Admissions for students allotted a college in the third general merit list for first year junior college concluded on Thursday, marking the end of the online process. Offline admissions for vacant seats are to begin from Friday.
An official from the office of the deputy director of education said that by 5pm on Thursday, 7,922 admissions were confirmed in the third round.
Colleges will update confirmations on the admission site till 10 am on Friday.
“The total number of students who have secured admission through the online admission process can be ascertained only after the colleges have completed uploading the information,” the official said.
In the third merit list announced on Tuesday, 27,945 students were allotted a seat, leaving 214 students without a college after the online process. There still remain over 74,000 vacant seats across the metropolitan region.
Guidelines issued by the deputy director of education say colleges must make admission forms available only to such students who have their original marksheet and school-leaving certificate.
At HR College, there were no seats left for the offline process.
