High wind-wave warning for many states

The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (Incois), Hyderabad, has issued high wind-wave alert/warning to various states including Goa, Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar up to 11.30pm on July 18.

HYDERABAD: The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (Incois), Hyderabad, has issued high wind-wave alert/warning to various states including Goa, Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar up to 11.30pm on July 18. Fishermen have been asked either to be cautious or not venture into the sea.
A High Wind-Wave Warning has been issued for Goa.
High waves in the range of 3.0 - 4.7 meters are forecasted along the coast of Goa between Vengurla to Vasco. Current speed vary between 59-80cm/sec.
A High Wind-Wave Warning has been issued for Kerala. High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.7 meters are forecasted along the Kerala coast between Vizhinjam to Kasargod. Current speed vary between 58-77cm/sec. Due to strong to vigorous monsoon conditions over south Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep area squally weather with wind speed reaching 50-60kmph are likely along and off Kerala coast area. Sea condition will be rough to very rough along and off Kerala coast. Local cautionary signal number three kept hoisted at all ports of Kerala. Fishermen are advised not to venture into open sea along and off Kerala coast area.
A High Wind-Wave Alert has been issued for Andhra Pradesh. High waves in the range of 2.5 - 2.7 meters are forecasted along the coast of Andhra Pradesh between Dugarajapatnam to Baruva. Current speed varies between 140 - 164 cm/sec. Due to strong monsoon conditions, strong surface winds from westerly direction speed reaching 45-50 kmph are likely along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh.
A High Wind-Wave Alert has been issued for West Bengal. High waves in the range of 2.5 - 3.0 meters are forecasted along the coast of West Bengal between Digha to Bakkhali. Current speed vary between 43 - 66 cm/sec.
A High Wind-Wave Alert has been issued for Orissa. High waves in the range of 2.5 - 3.0 meters are forecasted along the coast of Odisha between Gopalpur to Chandipur. Current speed vary between 41 - 66 cm/sec.
A High Wind-Wave Warning has been issued for Gujarat. High waves in the range of 3.0 - 5.8 meters are forecasted along the coast from Jakhau to Diu Head of Gujarat coast. Current speed vary between 45 - 61 cm/sec.

A High Wind-Wave Warning has been issued for Maharashtra. High waves in the range of 3.0 - 5.4 meters are predicted along the coast from Malvan to Vasai of Maharashtra coast. Current speed vary between 48 - 62 cm/sec.
A High Wind-Wave Warning has been issued for Karnataka High waves in the range of 3.0 - 4.7 meters are predicted along the coast from Mangalore to Karwar of Karnataka coast. Current speed vary between 65 - 79 cm/sec. Strong onshore winds from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph likely along and off Karnataka coast.
A High Wind-Wave Warning has been issued for Tamil Nadu. High waves in the range of 3.0 - 4.6 meters are predicted along the Kolachal to Kilakarai of Southern Tamil Nadu. Current speed vary between 69 - 98 cm/sec. Strong offshore winds from westerly to southwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph likely along and off north Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast.
A High Wind-Wave Warning has been issued for Lakshadweep. High waves in the range of 3.0 - 4.1 meters are forecasted along Lakshadweep Islands between Minicoy to Bitra. Current speed vary between 46 - 69 cm/sec.
A High Wind-Wave Warning has been issued for Andaman region. High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.8 meters are forecasted along the west coast of Andaman Islands between Ten Degree Channel to Coco Channel. Current speed vary between 66 - 77 cm/sec.
A High Wind-Wave Warning has been issued for Nicobar. High waves in the range of 3.0 - 3.7 meters are forecasted along the west coast of Nicobar Islands between Ten Degree Channel to Great Channel. Current speed vary between 78 - 90 cm/sec.
