Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah plays the roles of Macbeth's witches in Vishal Bhardwaj's adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy. Maqbool is that epic moment in Indian cinema, where the unbelievable happens. The world media took notice of a relatively unknown Indian filmmaker and his successful adaptation of the best playwright ever. Everyone who?d ever quoted Shakespeare in a spree of literary euphoria was in pleasant shock at the quality of Maqbool. Not just that, this quirky and edgy film put Irrfan Khan on the international podium of leading men as well. Pankaj Kapur and Tabu were appreciated for a passionate performances.
