After Akshay Kumar and Honey Singh, it is Sonakshi Sinha's turn to go down the same road as she launched her own team at the World Kabaddi League on Wednesday afternoon. The Dabangg actress has bought the UK team and has named it the 'United Kings'.

"In India, we are too interested in cricket rather than any other sports. So, I hope with this League, a sport like kabaddi gets the leverage. I would love to see this sport flourish in the country", she said.

On asking what prompted her to take up this Kabaddi League, she confirmed saying, " I never had to shoot for a kabaddi sequence before. But we have this kabaddi scene in Tevar. Although it was filmed on Arjun and I was not playing, I quite liked the game. I have been into sports from a very young age. I was a very good goalkeeper so everyone would want me in their teams. So here, I thought it would be a really good opportunity to jump at."

Having Honey Singh as a fellow owner, it would have been rather nice to see Yo Yo singing the theme song but Sonakshi put all rumours to rest. " Yes, Honey and I are really great friends. We had great fun working on the video. But here he has got his own team and we are competing against each other. So he would definitely not sing the song for my team. I have worked with a lot of other music directors so maybe I will have a Sajid-Wajid or Pritamda to do our song," she clarified.

Given that her favourite colour is orange, it was a given that the colour of her jersey would be the same, but she declined on confirming to that.

The World Kabaddi League kickstarts on August 9 in London and will be taken across three continents. Ten teams will be competing, each comprising 10 players, including Indian players along with some foreign players for prize money of a whooping Rs 3.5 crore.
