When the trailer of Dileep's much-awaited film "Avatharam" was launched, the makers of film never expected a controversy to hit them soon. The background score of the film trailer was found to have a striking similarity with that of upcoming Telugu film "Aagadu" teaser.

The teaser of "Avatharam" was well received by the Malayalam audience, but the authenticity of the trailer came in to the question when the trailer background score was matched to the "Aagadu" Teaser. "Aagadu" is directed by Srinu Vaitla, who has directed films like "Anandam", "Venky", "Dhee", "Dubai Seenu", "Ready", "Dookudu" and "Baadshah". The music of "Aagadu" is done by S Thaman

"The trailer which was released online was just a dummy, which we have uploaded for the promotion," said Vyasan Edavanakkad, the script writer and the producer of the film to IBTimes. "The original BGM by Deepak Dev is still under production. We took the background score from online and never knew it would result in something like this"

"I came to know about the issue much later. All I can say is that we did not intent to infringe someone's copyright. We are soon coming up with the original trailer and the background score," he added.

"Avatharam" is directed by Joshiy and apparently a high-budget film. It is set in the backdrop of Kochi underworld. The film deals with Madhavan's attempts to adjust to his life in Kochi and the problems faced by him. Lakshmi Menon plays the female lead, Manimegha, who is an employee of an insurance company.

Dileep is expected to repeat the success of "Ring Master" with the new flick. Dileep-Joshiy combination has always managed to bring big hits in the box office. This is the seventh time the actor is joining hands with the director. Their earlier films together were "Sainyam", "Runway", "Lion", "July 4", the multi-starrer "Twenty Twenty" and "Christian Brothers."

"Avatharam" has a huge star cast of Kalabhavan Shajon, Joy Mathew, Prem Prakash, Nandu Pothuval, Devan, Shammi Thilakan, Vinaya Prasad, Mithun Ramesh, Babu Namboothiri and Baby Drishya.

This action thriller is scripted by Vyasan Edavanakkad and the cinematography is handled by RD Rajashekaran. Editing is done by Shyam Sasidharan, music is composed by Deepak Dev and lyrics are penned by Rafeeq Ahmad.

"Avatharam" is produced by Siby K Thomas, Udaykrishna and Vyasan Edavanakkad under the banner of Four B Productions and is expected to hit theatres in time for Ramzan.
