John Abraham and Huma Qureshi's love saga

Sanjay Gupta's ambitious gangster flick, 'Mumbai Saga', which features John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Sood and Manoj Bajpai, has just got its first female lead. Mirror has learnt that Huma Qureshi has given her nod to the film.

Revealed a source close to the production, “Sanjay was really impressed with her performances in 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and 'Dedh Ishqiya'. He wanted someone who can blend innocence and sensuality and thought Huma was a perfect fit."

The actress reacted positively to the script.“She will be paired with John Abraham ­ an actor she hasn't worked with in the past. He plays an underworld don and she's his love interest."

The film, which is expected to go on floors by the end of this year, is inspired by real-life events during the transition of Bombay to Mumbai. Mirror had previously reported (February 13, 2014 ) that the film has characters loosely inspired by Bal Thackeray and gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli.
Despite repeated attempts, Sanjay Gupta and Huma Qureshi remained unavailable for comment.
