KURUKSHETRA: A woman councillor from Pehowa civic body on Tuesday, accused 79-year-old Haryana finance minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha of indecent behaviour and filed a complaint with the superintendent of police on Wednesday. Irate supporters of the minister blocked roads in Pehowa and gheraoed the councillor at her residence.
Councillor Geeta Dabra had approached Congress observer G Raju, who visited the town to take workers' opinion on ticket distribution for assembly polls on Tuesday, but he refused to listen to her complaint.
On Wednesday, she reached Kurukshetra and filed a written complaint with the SP. "The minister made advances to me saying that he would make me chairperson of the local body. He even asked me to meet him alone," Geeta told mediapersons. "The allegations are politically motivated so I don't want to comment on this. If the woman has leveled allegations, she should prove it," said finance minister HS Chatha.
