Emma Thompson will be featured in BAFTA’s fifth annual Screenwriters’ Lecture Series, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the British Film Institute announced Tuesday.

Thompson will be accompanied by James Schamus and Steven Knight for the first lectures in the 2014 series. Schamus will speak on Sept. 18 at BFI Southbank in London. Thompson will follow on Sept. 20. Knight will speak at London’s BAFTA headquarters on Sept. 29.

“Over the years we’ve been privileged to hear from some of the greatest names in film and television, and this year’s season is no different,” said BAFTA deputy chairman John Willis in a statement. “Our initial trio of speakers boast credits across a range of genres – from action to romance, from thriller to family, and from original screenplays to adaptations. BAFTA is thrilled to welcome these brilliant screenwriters to share the benefit of their vast experience with a public audience.”

This year’s Screenwriters’ Lecture Series is programmed by screenwriter Jeremy Brock (“Mrs. Brown,” “Last King of Scotland”). Podcasts of all the lectures will be made available for free via online service BAFTA Guru and video on demand service BFI Player.
