So far, the only Lamborghini Huracan racing we’ve seen involved examples of the Italian supercar being hooned on the track. Nonetheless, things are on their way to becoming serious, with the Raging Bull now releasing the first teaser for its upcoming Huracan LP610-4 Super Trofeo racer.
The creature will demonstrate its rage in the automaker’s one-make racing series starting from next year. Pilots for Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse motorsport arm is currently in the midst of the testing process, with the shakedown phase having taken place at the Vallelunga track in Italy.

“The first shakedown is always a very special moment,”
Giorgio Sanna, Lamborghini chief test driver, who was recently appointed Squadra Corse leader, said in a statement. “I’ve followed the development phase step by step in Sant’Agata Bolognese, and we are all enthusiastic about this very important moment.”

As the name of the race car suggests and just like it has happened in the past, the motorsport animal will keep the road-going Huracan’s 610 hp output, as well as the all-wheel drive system - the Huracan adds electronic control for the Haldex center diff, remember?

However, the most visible change will take place in the aerodynamics area. Lamborghini apparently took the camouflage thing literally, so the model in the teaser image looks like it’s ready to go Ferrari hunting in the woods. Aerodynamic changes have to be generously-sized in order to make a difference, so expect the final model to be quite different to the standard car when it comes to this. You’ll probably be able to rest on its rear wing between two races.

2015 will be a joy to the eyes of Lamborghini and/or racing fans, as it will see both the Huracan LP610-4 Super Trofeo and the Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo share the grid. Fret not, the two models will compete in different classes.

The Gallardo will run in the GT3 class, but 2015 is its last year - we’ll remind you Lamborghini’s motorsport partner, Reiter Engineering, is currently working on a GT3 Huracan racer. This could perform testing sessions as early as next year.
