Except from the front grille design and Dodge badges inside & out, the all-new Fiat Freemont Cross is basically the same car as its American cousin in terms of aesthetics. But is that all? Fortunately not...
While the Dodge Journey Crossroad can only be had with the 2.4-liter Tigershark four-pot or the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, the Euro-spec Cross version of the Fiat Freemont boasts a turbocharged oil burner displacing 2 liters. Available in front or all-wheel drive, the 2-liter MultiJet II engine can be had with either 140 or 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque for both power versions. AWD models get a six-speed automatic as standard, while a six-speed manual is offered on more basic trimmed 4x2 models.

Slated to go on sale this autumn, the Fiat Freemont Cross is heralded as being "all the car you want" thanks to its capacity to seat seven, 32 seat configurations, 25 storage compartments and cavernous boot. Moreover, the more aggressive look differentiates it from the rest of the Freemont range, especially those Platinum Chrome front and rear bumpers, black frames on the light clusters and 19-inch burnished Hyper Black five-spoke alloy wheels.

Looks aside, standard interior features include an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with sat-nav, black leather seats with sports mesh fabric inserts and light artesian grey stitching, as well as Liquid Graphite detailing throughout the crossover's cabin. Life is made easier behind the steering wheel thanks to a thumping Alpine Premium sound system with 6 speakers and a subwoofer, rearview parking camera, Bluetooth connectivity for your mobile device, DVD player and SD slot for your favorite MP3 tunes.

On the Italian market, the Cross is the top-of-the-range variant of the Fiat Freemont lineup, which also includes the Black Code, Lounge, Urban and entry-level trim known as the Freemont. Mopar-branded accessories are also available for those that want a bit more "special" from their Fiat Freemont Cross. Some highlight personalization items available at the present moment include roof bars, kick plates with Freemont lettering, luggage protection box and a soft bag for mounting on the roof.
