Two couples defy Glenda, tie the knot

Not even a typhoon could stop Arnel and Grace Borja from proclaiming their marriage vows.

Typhoon Glenda (Rammasun) struck parts of Luzon on Wednesday, including Olongapo, where Arnel and Grace were wed in a simple ceremony. Arnel told GMA News' "24 Oras" that they would've persisted with the wedding through any conditions.

"Kahit na bumabagyo man yan, o anuman, gusto ko na makasal kami sa kahit anong paraan," he said.

Grace concurred. "Hindi naman makakapigil...sige, tuloy, kahit may bagyo," she laughed.

"'Wag nating ipangalan sa bagyo," she added, referring to her healthy pregnant belly.

A separate report on "24 Oras" showed another happy couple taking the plunge during the typhoon. Kiyoshi and Magdalena Nakahara, who have been together for two years and have two children, said that they were not about to let a typhoon stop them from getting hitched. "Ganoon kami katatag, e," the happy bride said with a big smile on her face. — Rie Takumi/BM/NB, GMA News
