More news have emerged regarding Nissan’s upcoming Nismo line of factory performance model. The company is now revisiting the small car performance genre, having already producing versions of the 370Z Nismo, JUKE Nismo, JUKE Nismo RS and GT-R Nismo high performance sport models.

According to a new report, Nissan has already finished the development of a four cylinder 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The new mill, packing 198 kW (266 Hp), will be deployed in the brand’s small performance car range.

The first Nismo model to receive the engine will be the second generation Qashqai Nismo sports SUV, based on the standard Nissan Qashqai. The same engine will eventually find its way under the bonnet of the much rumored Nissan Pulsar Nismo sedan and hatchback (pictured).
