Renan Briceno, nephew of Orange Walk Central Area Rep, John Briceno, has stood a full trial without for murder, and tonight, he's waiting for Justice Troadio Gonzalez to deliver his verdict.
For the past month, the prosecution, led by Crown Counsels Shanice Lovell and Portia Staine has been calling witnesses to testify against him, and today, both the prosecution and defense closed their case.
The case will conclude when Justice Troadio Gonzalez will deliver a verdict after reviewing all the evidence from both the crown and the defence.
As we told you, on Saturday, December 31, 2011, 19 year-old Dale Tillett was shot outside the Palm Island Night Club on the Northern Highway. Briceno was believed to be the shooter, and he was charged with murder.
Up until his detention and arrest for Tillett's murder, Renan Briceno was an employee of the family's Speednet telecommunication's company - more widely known as SMART! The Tillett shooting was seen as an event which caused a disturbance of the gang truce organized by the Government.
We'll be at court tomorrow to hear when Justice Gonzalez announces the verdict.
