Immoral trafficking: seven arrested

Following a complaint lodged by a 16-year-old girl from Odisha on Monday, Anjuna police in north coastal Goa arrested at Arpora seven persons, Santosh Gocchi, Ghanshyam Shaw, Rubina Jela, Narayan Lala, Suraj Raut, Shantanu and Deeptimayee Baria, all from Odisha, on the charge of wrongful confinement and immoral trafficking.

The victim girl lodged the complaint stating that she was brought to Goa allegedly by these persons on July 9 for immoral trafficking. She has said that the accused made false promises and wrongfully confined her in a hotel room at Arpora. She has also said that she was assaulted and molested by the accused.
