A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly molesting a young Spanish woman at Lodhi Garden here on Sunday.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Giri, molested the woman in full public view, grabbing her arm and misbehaving with her.

“The accused not only misbehaved with her for a long time but also warned her against raising her voice. However, the woman cried out for help and soon people taking a stroll in the park came to her rescue and also alerted the police,” said a police officer.

A Police Control Room team reached the spot and took the accused to the Tughlak Road police station where a case of molestation was registered against him.

The accused, resident of Badarpur, works as a house-keeping staff at a five-star hotel. According to the police, he was in an inebriated state at the time of the incident.

The victim is a resident of Spain and had come to Delhi with her female friend on a tourist visa on July 6. After a trip to Agra and nearby places, she had reached Delhi on Sunday.
