MUMBAI: Prosecution in techie Esther Anuhya’s murder case submitted draft charges against the accused in a sessions court on Tuesday.
Charges against Chandrabhan Sanap include murder, rape, destruction of evidence, abduction and robbery. Both the prosecution and defence will argue on these after which the court will frame charges against Sanap. The accused will then have to plead guilty or not guilty, following which trial will commence.
The matter will now be heard on July 31. Anuhya (23) went missing after alighting at LTT from a train at 4.55am on January 5. She was returning to the city, where she worked, after celebrating Christmas with her family in Andhra Pradesh.
Her half-burnt, partly decomposed body was found in the mangroves off Eastern Express Highway near Kanjurmarg on January 16.
