Dileep to act in Punjabi House 2

It was more than a decade ago that Rafi-Mecartin made the Dileep-Mohini-starrer Punjabi House, but thanks to the numerous evergreen comic moments in the film, it is still a hot favourite. Now we hear that the sequel of the laughter riot, which is titled Punjabi House 2, will hit the screens next year. Dileep will again play the lead in the film, though the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised.
Director Rafi says, “The sequel will again be a film centred on comedy. We are planning to start the shoot next year. As of now, I am scripting a film for Shafi and its shoot will start in October. Dileep is the hero in this film too.” When asked whether any of the others in the original film would be roped in for the sequel, Rafi said that nothing has been decided yet.
As an independent director Rafi worked with Dileep in the recent hit Ring Master. The filmmaker had also donned an interesting role of a director in Ring Master.
Will he be seen as an actor again through this film? “Well, may be,” he says with a laugh.
Meanwhile, Dileep is currently working with debutant Sudheesh Shankar for another comedy movie titled Villali Veeran, in which Namitha Pramod is his leading lady.
