The birth anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hassan (RA) was observed with reverence and religious fervour on Monday.
Imambargahs, mosques and seminaries were decorated with roses and banners. Special events were held at Imambargah Najaf Manzil (Mozang), Jamiatul Muntazir (Model Town), Jamia Masjid Irfan (Islampura) and the shrine of Hazrat Bibian Pakdaman.
More than 6,000 people attended the celebrations at Imambargah Najaf Manzil.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Syed Misam Tamar Bukhari, the Imambargah Najaf Manzil caretaker, said people from all schools of thought had participated in the ceremony.
“We have been arranging special events on Imam Hassan’s (RA) birthday at the imambargah for 80 years and a large number of people always participate,” he said.
Aqeel Manzoor, a folk singer, and zakirs recited inspirational poetry about the life and teachings of Imam Hassan (RA).
Jaffar Tiyar, Habib Raza, Irfan Ali, Zaheerul Hassan Zaheer, Haider Gilani and Irfan Haider also spoke at the ceremony.
