4 held, Rs 7 lakh worth stolen jewellery seized

HYDERABAD: Humayun Nagar police arrested watchman of an apartment in Potti Sriramulu Nagar (PS Nagar) in Masab Tank and two of his family members in a robbery case and recovered all stolen booty from their possession.
In another case, Punjagutta police arrested four persons and recovered Rs 7 lakh worth gold stolen from a jewellery store.
The accused are B Praveen Kumar, watchman of DNR residency in PS Nagar, his wife Vaishnavi and her niece B Sunitha.On July 8 evening, Praveen along with his wife and her niece entered flat No. 302 of DNR residency when the owner Hari Gopal Reddy’s wife Shobha was alone and attacked her on the head with a stick. Later, the trio stole Rs 3.5 lakh worth gold jewellery and Rs 3,000 cash from the house and fled from the apartment.
Later, an electrician, Hussain who was called there for some repair work by Gopal Reddy came to the flat and found the main door locked. Hussain called Reddy over the phone and informed him that the door was locked. Reddy then called his wife Shobha and she told about the robbery. Reddy immediately returned home and rushed his wife to a nearby hospital for treatment.
In another case, Punjagutta police arrested four persons in relation to the theft at a jewellery store and recovered Rs 7 lakh worth stolen ornaments from their possession. The accused are S Logeswari, sales manager in BSP Jewellers, Babu Khan Mall, her associates, Priyanka, a beautician her father Lawrence and their friend, Harsha from Borabanda.
The owner of Praveen Goud went abroad . Logeswari stole several jewellery items and Rs 4 lakh cash at various occasions from the shop. Logeswari kept the cash for herself and handed over the jewellery to the co-accused to to invest in a boutique business.
