It’s no secret that the Big M of M-Town, Mammootty, has always supported debutant filmmakers by working in their projects. Now we hear that the actor has signed up for an entertainer helmed and scripted by Jamal, a movie freak, who has been an associate of director Joshiy.
The director is tight-lipped about the details of the project but hints that Mammootty will be seen in a new look in his debut venture.
“It’s too early to disclose the details. It’s a movie that cannot be tagged under any particular genre. Mammootty will play a science columnist, which is a first in his acting career. We are yet to finalise the leading lady in the film,” says Jamal. As per a source, the makers are planning to shoot the film in Kochi, Delhi, Bangalore and Mysore.
Meanwhile, Mammootty has two much-awaited films lined up for release — Salam Bappu’s Manglish and cinematographer Venu’s directorial venture Munnariyippu. While the former is about a fish monger, Malik Bhai, the latter will see Mammootty playing an ex-convict. The actor has reportedly signed up for director Kamal’s untitled film.
