The Lancaster International Piano Festival (LIPF) returns to The Ware & Winter Centers of Millersville University beginning on Saturday, July 19 and running through Monday, July 28, 2014. This inspiring and informative program offers young aspiring concert pianists, teachers, amateurs, and piano lovers at large an intensive educational program along with an outstanding concert series performed by world-class pianists open to the public.

Musicians that are scheduled to perform at this year's festival include Wei Gong and Chongxiao Liu, Claire Huangci, Peter Frankl, and Joanna Trzeciak. Other performances that are scheduled include the Romantic Music Competition at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 22 at the Ware Center; the Faculty Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 25 at the Ware Center; and the Piano Gala concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 26 at the Ware Center.

The Opening Concert featuring Wei Gong and Chongxiao Liu will be held at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 19 at the Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center, Millersville. Chinese pianist, Wei Gong has performed solo and chamber music recitals in many cities in China, such as Beijing, Wuhan, Qingdao, and Jinan. Chongxiao Liu, Chinese pianist, performs as a solo pianist, chamber musician and recording artist. He has performed in the United States, Russia, Germany, France, Bulgaria, and China. Gong and Liu are both currently piano professors at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music, China.

Claire Huangci will perform at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 20 at the Ware Center. Huangci began her international career at the age of nine and is already regarded as on the premiere Chopin interpreters of her generation. Huangci demonstrates her diversity and interpretational skill performing with esteemed orchestras all over the world

Peter Frankl's concert will be at 7:30 p.m., Monday, July 21 at the Ware Center. Frankl made his name on the international circuit as a young pianist in the 1960s. Frankl has performed with many orchestras in the USA, the Berlin Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaur, and many more international groups. (pictured to the right)Joanna Trzeciak, born in Krakow, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 23 at the Ware Center. Trzeciak began her musical training at the age of seven under Professor Zbigniew Drzewiecki. In 1987, Trzeciak made her debut on London's 'South Bank'.
