I mention the Amazon option not really for price comparison's sake, but to let you peruse the nearly 100 user reviews. They average out to 4.2 stars (out of 5), which is great, but at least some users had trouble getting the MX3 to work properly. Sounds like you need to have at least a bit of tech-savvy to get the most from this.
On one side, the MX3 looks like a fairly typical TV remote. Flip it over, however, and you'll find a set of thumb-friendly QWERTY keys -- great for tapping out Web addresses, search parameters, usernames and passwords, and so on.
It's also a gyroscopically-controlled air mouse, meaning you can just wave it around to control an onscreen cursor.
The MX3 works with a wide variety of devices and comes with a USB receiver for PCs and other devices that don't have IR built in. The remote operates at 2.4GHz and has a range of 10 meters -- more than enough for kicking back on the couch.
Obviously this isn't something that everyone needs, but if you've often found yourself wishing for a way to remotely operate (and/or type into) a PC, game console, or the like, this is a pretty cheap solution.
