INTERPLAST MEDICAL TEAM TO VISIT HONIARA AND GIZO

An Interplast medical team from Australia and New Zealand will visit the country from 26th this month to provide medical services both to Honiara and Gizo medical centers.

A statement from the Australian Aid today says the team, led by Mr Darrell Nam including two plastic surgeons, one anaesthetist and two nurses will organise a consultation clinic on Monday 28 July while surgical services training will be performed and provided at the NRH from then till 3rd August.

It says the team will organise a consultation and surgical services clinic from 4-6 August at the Gizo Hospital.

The statement adds while patients with conditions including cleft lip and palate, scarring from burns, hand injuries and tumours are urged to contact the surgical unit at the National Referral Hospital and Gizo Hospital for an appointment, patients with common skin diseases or cosmetic conditions will be excluded from this consultation.

SIBC News understands, Interplast medical teams are funded by the Australian Government and Rotary Clubs in Australia and New Zealand.
