After selling online and through certain retail stores across the city, Karthik Vaidyanathan, the brain behind Varnam, that reinvented Channapatna art, decided to start his own store. Called the Varnam Store, it is situated in Indiranagar 2nd Stage.
“It was a place I really liked and could afford,” says Karthik. “For the last six months my boundary has expanded. I have been selling online and at other retail stores. However, not all retail stores have my products. So here you will get everything from Channapatna jewellery and home décor to gifting options under one roof.”
Karthik who works “intensely with artisans in Channapatna” has designed all the products with a contemporary twist. Varnam products have also been awarded the Kyoorius-Blue Elephant Award and the CII Design Excellence Award in 2013.
