residential frontrunner Joko "Jokowi" Widodo was scheduled to fly to Surabaya to monitor vote recounts at a number of locations in East Java on Monday.
Previously, Jokowi also observed several vote recounts in West Java, as reported by tempo.co.
According to the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle's (PDI-P) East Java branch chairperson, Sirmadji Tjondro Pragolo, Jokowi was expected to arrive at Juanda International Airport at 3:30 p.m. and go immediately to the East Java PDI-P headquarters.
"He will monitor the vote recounts and also check all the C1 forms that have been collected [by his witnesses throughout East Java]," he said on Monday.
In Surabaya, Jokowi will also take some time to meet with his supporters who worked hard to campaign for his presidential candidacy, Sirmadji said.
At around 5 p.m., Jokowi was scheduled to break the fast with members of the East Java chapter of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), before conducting tarawih (evening prayer) at the Al Akbar Mosque in Surabaya.
"He will visit [senior NU leader] Bu Khofifah Indar Parawansa's residence," Sirmadji said.
The Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla ticket is predicted to have garnered around 55 percent of the vote during the recent presidential election. (fss)
