'I openly speak about having Salman Khan as my godfather'
What’s the common factor between hit films like Bodyguard, Oh My God, Khiladi 786, Bol Bachchan, Humshakals and now the Salman sensation Kick? It’s none other than the super talented lyricist Shabbir Ahmed who has heavily contributed in the success of the films by penning some of the chartbusting songs like Chalao Na Naino Se Baand Re, Callertune baby and the most recent Jumme Ki Raat.
And now the song writer is all set to woo the music lovers with the upcoming action packed flick Singham Returns.
It’s not been an easy ride to fame for Shabbir but the writer thanks Salman for having his back every now and then, “I openly speak about having Salman Khan as my godfather in the industry. His immense support and faith in my work has taken me to great heights in my career,” gushes Shabbir as he juggles from one music sitting to the other.

The writer is still flying high from the appreciation he has received for Jumme Ki Raat and states that composer Himesh Reshammiya has been very instrumental in his journey. “I am glad to work with a composer like Himeshji who understands the importance of lyrics in songs and blends them brilliant melodies. I wouldn’t have been what I am today if it wasn’t for both Himeshji and Salman bhai,” states Shabbir.
However, that doesn’t take away the fact that he cherishes the bond he has developed with many stalwarts of the industry with whom he has worked including the likes of Ajay Devgan, Rohit Shetty, Sajid-Wajid, Meet Brothers, Jeet Ganguly , Mithoon, A R Rehman among others.
The songs of Kick are already pleasing all Salman fans and we surely are hoping a chart busting album from Singham Returns as well.
