Saxena elusive as cops show no hurry to nab him
BHOPAL: Two days after district court ordered forfeiture of suspended inspector Upmanyu Saxena's property for his failure to surrender in stipulated time, cops do not appear in a hurry to nab on-the-run cop.
It is almost two months that the suspended cop is playing elusive after abetment to suicide case was registered against him for his alleged role.
Saxena is accused of abetting his live-in partner Sharma to commit suicide at her Misrod home on May 11. The on-the-run cop would frequently come to meet Indu at her flat and the two knew each other for past few years, police said.
Misrod police station cops, who are investigating the case, said Saxena's property has been seized and search for him will continue.
Details of his property, as furnished by cops in court, include a car, two bank accounts having deposit of Rs 1.4 lakh and Rs 4,000, besides two scooters.
Since wife of the accused is also working, the property registered in the name of his family could not be attached as it couldn't be established whether it was bought solely by him, officials said.
On July 10, family of Sharma demanded that Saxena's official residence, where the cop's family is residing be vacated. Alleging that police are going soft on Saxena, Sharma's sister Priyanka said her family would continue to fight till they get justice.
