'Excellent' ties focused on future

French ambassador recalls her early days in China and looks forward to the days ahead

The French Ambassador to China Sylvie Bermann said in an interview with China Daily that the relations between the two countries have been "really excellent" over the past few years.

"We have, of course, very close relations in the political field," she said. "China and France are both permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, so we are talking about every global issue."
