Rains continue in Saurashtra

People of Saurashtra, especially farmers, were in for a pleasant surprise when 25 to 175mm rains fell across the region in the last 48 hours.

RAJKOT: People of Saurashtra, especially farmers, were in for a pleasant surprise when 25 to 175mm rains fell across the region in the last 48 hours.
On Saturday, rains continued to fall in Rajkot, Amreli, Junagadh, Porbandar and Jamnagar. However, rains have given a miss to Surendranagar district.
In the last 24 hours in Rajkot district, light to medium showers were reported from Gondal, while Kotadasangani received 25mm of rainfall.

In Junagadh district in the last 24 hours, Mangrol recorded 175mm of rainfall, which is the highest across any part of Saurashtra so far.
Other places where rains were reported in Junagadh district include Junagadh city (25mm), Chorwad (125mm), Maliya Hatina (75mm), Keshod (37mm), Talala (12.5mm), Manawadar (37mm), Kukaswada (125mm), Veraval (75mm), Sutrapada (75mm),Una (25 mm) and Kodinar (25mm).
In Amreli district, 55mm rainfall has been recorded in Vadia in the last 24 hours. Other places in the district where rains occurred include Babara (25mm), Dhari (13mm), Jafrabad (1mm) and Khambha (8mm).

In Porbandar district, Madhavpur and Kutiyana received 125mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. In other places of the district, Ranavav recieved 37mm of rainfall, while Rana Kandorana, Bhod and Mokar received 37 to 50mm of rainfall. That apart, in the coastal belt of Porbandar, Balej, Ratiya, Mocha, Borsar, Madhavpur and Antroli recieved 100mm of rainfall.
In Bhavnagar district, Sihor, Gadhada and Botad recorded 10mm, 12mm and 10mm rainfall respectively in the last 24 hours.
